The Adult Education Department of Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ provides opportunities for individuals to improve basic skills, obtain a high school equivalency, and proceed to college or the workforce. There are multiple paths to take to earn the Mississippi High School Equivalency Diploma.<\/p>\n
Some restrictions apply. Examinees must meet certain eligibility requirements. Additional services are not included in price. Call the Adult Education Office at 601-477-4164 for more information.<\/b><\/p>\nAdult Education\/HSE Classes<\/h2>\n
Individuals may enroll in free Adult Education\/High School Equivalency (HSE) classes located in Clarke, Greene, Jasper, Jones (Advanced Technology Center), and Wayne counties. Classes are offered in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and online. All candidates are required to take a diagnostic test to determine their current academic levels. For more information about class enrollment and registration dates, call 601-477-4164.<\/span><\/p>\n Do you know someone who wants\/needs to learn to read? Adults can come to JC to join our literacy program. We offer small group learning environments with students on similar skill levels. (Cost: free).<\/p>\n This program is designed to help individuals improve English skills while developing an understanding of civic duties and responsibilities. (Cost: free).<\/p>\n The High School Equivalency program (formerly GED®) is composed of courses designed to prepare students to successfully complete the high school equivalency examinations.<\/p>\n This program is designed to assist adults who do not have a high school diploma.
