The Access to Opportunity for Healthcare Students grant provides tuition assistance for eligible Â鶹ֱ²¥ healthcare students who are nearing completion of their certification or degree. This support is designed to help students overcome financial barriers, stay enrolled, and complete the final steps toward entering the healthcare workforce.
The Bower Foundation supports public health programs committed to improving the lives of Mississippians. Through partnerships and grant funding, the Foundation invests in efforts that strengthen healthcare access, improve public health outcomes, and support long-term improvements in Mississippi’s health and education infrastructure.
Eligible students may receive up to $1,000 toward tuition. Awards are applied directly to the student’s outstanding tuition balance.
If a student’s balance is less than $1,000, the grant will only cover the amount owed. No refund will be issued for any remaining award amount.
To be considered, students must:
1) Be enrolled in a qualifying Â鶹ֱ²¥ healthcare program
2) Be in their final two semesters before earning their certification or graduating
3) Have an outstanding tuition balance
4) Submit a completed application for assistance
Students must include a detailed paragraph explaining their need for tuition assistance and how this grant would impact their ability to complete their program. This response is an important part of the application review process.
Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds have been exhausted. Once funds are depleted, no additional awards will be made.
Information submitted through the application may be used for reporting purposes and shared with The Bower Foundation.
