Purpose Our Certified Phlebotomy Technician program teaches technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy required to become a Phlebotomy Technician. The program includes theory and hands-on instruction. Students will gain skill development through a variety of blood collection methods which includes: butterfly needles, capillary skin puncture, syringes, specimen collection and vacuum collection devices.

Program Description This program is designed for individuals who are interested in starting a career in the medical field to become a phlebotomy technician or want to get a headstart on their other health science pathways. Being a certified Phlebotomy Technician is helpful in any other health science program and automatically makes your application stand out. It is M-F, with Fridays being hybrid and reserved for clinicals.

How to Enroll

  • Step 1-Must be 18 years of age by the start of the program.
  • Step 2-Meet general requirements for admission to Âé¶¹Ö±²¥.
  • Step 3- Submit ACT/SAT scores and transcripts to the Jones Admissions Office. 
  • Step 4  - Complete a Jones Admissions Application . Applications can be completed online or mailed to: Jones County Junior College, Admissions Office, 900 South Court Street, Ellisville, MS 39437. 
  • Step 5  - Submit a completed .
  • Step 6 - Once accepted, Must have current immunizations.
  • Step 7- Once accepted, must have Hepatitis-B inoculations 
  • Step 8- Once accepted, Must have a Physical Examination stating that the student is medically capable of the job demands. 
  • Step 9- Once accepted, Must acquire a Health-care Provider CPR Card. 
  • Step 10- Once accepted, Must have an FBI background or affidavit completed.
